Do you want to improve your performance, feel stronger and healthier?

You’ve come to the right place!

As an athlete, we often think our performance is down to training harder and mostly focus on that. However, through our many years of working with and studying successful athletes and their performance, we know performing at your best comes down to a number of key areas of your life. These areas include but are not limited to key daily focus points: Sleep, Psychological performance, Nutrition, Recovery, Hydration, Community and there are a number of areas of your life that can give you a greater chance of success.

Don’t get us wrong, we put a lot of time and effort into the training programs, biomechanics assessments and movement routines that make up the ‘Training’ focus for our clients. However, the clients that get the best results and have the least chance of injury are the ones that put time into the educational side of our programming and apply those simple strategies and tasks successfully for them.

Our goal is to make things more Simple for you the athlete. But this does not mean we cut corners. We work to provide clear support structures for your key performance areas listed above, so you can achieve your best and maximise your sporting performance.

What some of our athletes have to say:

Debbie Allen – Doctor, Runner and Golfer

What was your situation like before we started?

“I was referred to Simon from my personal trainer with a long history of back and knee problems which was restricting my ability to exercise particularly run and play golf.”

Did you have any initial concerns or hesitations?

“I was happy to come and have an opinion as I had already tried physio , osteopathy and orthopaedic surgeons.”

How was your journey with SI Sports and Injury?

“The assessment made sense to me looking at me as a whole person not just one joint problem, I am a gp.
You assessed me and found I had a very tight hip flexor and restricted movement of both feet, over the coming months you gave me exercises to do and I became pain free able to run and play golf without pain.”

How do you feel now? What results have you achieved?

“All my family have since been to you for various rugby injuries and have all benefitted from your care. I have also recommended you to all my friends family colleges and patients.”
“Great results”
Many thanks
Debbie
Dr Deborah Noland

Menelik Watson – NFL Athlete, Oakland Raiders

Coming after a long season in football, especially coming off the off-season program I had a lot of strength in the weight room such as squat, bench, core. However I was experiencing pain in the right knee. I wasn’t understanding where it was coming from. With Simon I was able to find out where it was coming from and where the deficiencies were to make it stronger.

How was the assessment?

The assessment was really helpful because from the assessment we were able to identify where the deficiencies were i.e. my ankle mobility was terrible. My hips were tight and didn’t internally rotate. All of which were putting stress on the knee. So we addressed that from the assessment.

How was the process to correct everything?

Ha, it’s been tough but it hasn’t been too complicated. Working on the ankle mobility, a lot of single leg work , no weights included, so it’s given me the ability to mobile I can do them wherever I please, I travel a lot, whether I am at home or a friends house I can just find a wall and do my exercises.

What benefits do you feel?

The benefits I feel right now are… I feel like I have a brand new knee. I feel comfortable sitting with my knee, I feel stronger single leg stability, my running motion has been corrected which has given me back that burst of speed I used to have. My power as well, I feel stronger within my legs, I’m getting the strength from the right places so that’s the main thing

Brian Tracey – Triathlete

What was your situation like before we started?

“I have always done sport and had never been bothered by injury. As I got older however I found that I was getting stiffer and suffering more overuse injuries. I was also not looking at my nutrition. I had a typical endurance approach to training which was that more was always better. About 12 months before starting with Simon I developed a hamstring and Achilles injury which despite a number of visits to physiotherapists could not get rid of. I continued to race until the injury started to impact on everyday activities. This led to me getting quite depressed and frustrated.”

Did you have any initial concerns or hesitations?

“I was sceptical that a PT would provide the intensity that I was used to and was nervous that curing the injury would mean a long lay off from running.”

How was your journey with me?

“The journey has been fascinating. By trusting in Simon and setting goals we have achieved all my goals for the year. A year on from starting with Simon I was able to complete a half ironman and my running is now stronger than it was previously. His approach to continuously monitor progress and change things keeps the training lively and I now have a far greater appreciation of the role of conditioning to enable me to participate in my sport. His approach has encompassed all aspects of sports performance including conditioning, flexibility, endurance and nutrition to make me the best I can be.”

How do you feel now? What results have you achieved?

“I now feel far more confident and energised. I have a greater understanding of my body and its biomechanics. I know what to look out for and the exercises that I need to do daily to ensure I can run pain free. I have more confidence to set more ambitious goals and have lost weight and am more toned.”
