What was your situation like before we started?
Having been involved in high level sports in my 20’s and 30’s I was accustomed to serious training. As a Head of a large PE Department I eventually spent more time coaching pupils and less time looking after my own personal fitness needs. I decided to sign up for coaching sessions with Simon to motivate me and help me keep energised for work.
Did you have any initial concerns or hesitations?
I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to work as hard as I had in the past and wouldn’t be able to transfer what I learned in sessions to my own training. Having experienced working with other PT’s who did not impress me with their limited knowledge, I was at a last attempt to find what I needed in a coach/trainer.
How was your journey with me?
Right from the first session I was intrigued. Simon related so well to my sport’s past and the training was so interesting that I really looked forward to each session and even used some methods for my teaching. Not only did he teach me new concepts for training but he helped me improve my general health and wellbeing through nutrition.
How do you feel now? What results have you achieved?
My fitness level and energy increased and I was so interested in the training and ideas Simon introduced me to that I decided to add to my qualifications and successfully complete a PT course. Learning with Simon rejuvenated me in my own work and as I was ready to retire from teaching it gave me new goals for my future, namely working with local MS and Parkinson’s Groups teaching seated exercise.
