I had been on a lot of medication and give up on exercise as advised by a doctor. I was told by 30 I was likely to be in a wheelchair due to the damage in my knee.
After about a month my goal was to ice skate. I used to love it as a kid and used to love watching ic hockey. After about 6 months and a shit load of hard work I skated for the first time since I was 16.
I’m 33 now and I train ice hockey twice a week and am now good enough to start playing recreational hockey. I’m studying sports and exercise science and on Sunday I have a genuine chance to be picked to play for a new team.

It’s been a long hard road, but I can honestly say without Simons help I would probably be in a wheelchair let alone be able to play ice hockey. So thank you. And for anyone who sees a doctor and they tell them they can’t do something don’t believe a word of it!
